For Valentine’s Day, my 4th and 5th grade classes read Jack Prelutsky’s poem “I love you more than applesauce.” They enjoyed it immensely. We all made cards to give out, with the 4th form writing compliments and the 5th form writing short 4-line poems.
Here are the highlights:
“You are nice like a cat.” – Katya, 4th grade
“You are interesting like the internet.” – Zhenya, 4th grade
“I love you more than Call of Duty.” – Vova, 4th grade
“You are excellent like watermelon.” – Anya, 4th grade
“I love you more than a kitten.” – Sasha, 4th grade
Anyush, 5th grade:
I love you more than orange shake
I love you more than swimming lake
I really love to write a test
But I love you the best
Andrey, 5th grade:
I love you more than orange juice
I love you more than platypus
I really love English test
But I love you the best
Alisa, 5th grade:
I love you more than golden ring*
I love you more than fruit ice cream
I really love to play with ball
But I love you most of all
*Golden Ring is the name of a shopping mall in the downtown district. Or she just loves you more than golden rings.
I’ve already uploaded videos for the poems here. Pictures of some excellent valentines coming soon!
