That tune you’re humming…

Well, friends, it has been quite a while.

As some of you may know, I have been a fan of Hanson for just about as long as Hanson has been a band. Most people also enjoyed Hanson’s first singles back in 1997, but I am one of the group that has remained a fan throughout the years. Although I’ve always thought that Hanson was a talented and very musical group, my interested has waned throughout the years because they failed to really capture me. I was entertained by their music, but it wasn’t anything that I absolutely had to listen to.

UNTIL NOW.

Hanson has discovered the glory that is a horn section. They have a cowbell. They are jazzy and bluesy and have a depth to their music that sounds absolutely nothing like their MMMBop days. Their sound is fun and inspires me to dance and be joyous.

Please watch this video. Turn up your volume. SMILE.

Okay- WOW! Your belief in these guys was on target- this is the kind of music they were born to make. (PS – I’m going to download this.)

they’ve definitely come a long way. except it’s entirely extracted from the blues brothers of 30 years ago. arrangement , choreography, horn section and all. they do make a nod to it with the guy in the black suit and sunglasses.
